- What is your past experience with Communion/Lord’s Table? What do you enjoy about it? What are some of challenges you have faced with it?
- What is Jesus doing and what do you think he means by this statement: “this cup is the new covenant in my blood?” (Luke 22:20; 1 Cor. 11:25; Heb. 10:4; Heb. 9:11-12)
- What connections do you see between “I will remember their sins no more” and “Do this in remembrance of me?” (Heb. 10:17; 1 Cor. 11:23-26)
- Discuss the “good things” that were to come from Hebrews 10:1. What are those good things?
- Examine the context of the 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 and the Lord’s supper. What criticisms and warnings did Paul give the Corinthian church surrounding the Lord’s table?
- Why do you think God has instituted the religious observance of the Lord’s Supper for the church even today?
